[For Robin: Justine]

Justine had tried to get in to see Robin a few times before, but it wasn't easy. His room was guarded, and she had to find a time when Lara was well and distracted. After a couple of frustrating days (during which she hadn't been able to reach Thomas, which was starting to scare her), she'd finally gotten an opportunity and she seized it.

She pushed the door open, carrying a tray with a bowl of soup and a sandwich on it, and closed it softly behind her, looking over toward the bed though she wasn't sure she wanted to see what was waiting for her. She shifted the tray to one arm and lifted her hand to her lips, cautioning him to be silent as she moved over to where Robin lay.

"Little squeamish considering your place of employment," Robin said sourly, but casually tossed the sheet over his waist.

"Can you get me a weapon?"

Suddenly, Robin's eyes flashed with anger. "I am not some pet to be kept," he hissed. "It is unacceptable that I am still here, I don't care how good the sex is."

Honestly that last bit was pretty hard to say. It made him think of the sex. And Lara. And how a large part of him wished Justine would get the hell out so she would come back. But it was a little easier to think clearer at least when she was out of the room.

"I am going to get out and if I have to burn this place to the ground I will."

Robin shook his head, forcing himself not to snap at her again. "I have no idea. And I doubt he'd even realize that I'm missing, let alone know where to look for me."

"Tell me how I should act," said Robin. "The better a thrall I can be, the less she'll think she needs to... push, right?"

He almost sounded like he wanted reassurance.

Robin thought of how he'd felt the time he'd been with Thomas and thought... that he'd do anything he said, that he'd fuck him as long as he wanted even if it killed him.

He'd hated that feeling. It had scared the fuck out of him.

"Got it," he said, but his mouth was in a straight line.

Robin wasn't sure that she'd really done a whole hell of a lot to help, but he did say, "Thanks," anyway, though it was half-hearted.

"Don't get yourself in trouble," he added. "Thomas wouldn't want you to."

After all, she was his true love or whatever. It wasn't like there'd be a contest if he was choosing between her and Robin.

Robin watched her go, and then after a moment, actually picked up the tray and ate some of the soup.

And thought about how he was going to act when he saw Lara again.
